Poggemeyer Design Group, Inc., a local architectural and engineering firm headquartered in Bowling Green, was recently featured in Builders' Exchange Magazine's ranking of 20 firms in Ohio.
Firms were ranked according to the number of active projects in Builders Exchange's research database at the end of the first quarter of 2009.
Poggemeyer was listed second in the state, just three projects shy of the top-ranked firm.
Locally, the firm is designing a section of Defiance's combined sewer separation project, a 13-mile waterline from Ottawa to Bluffton, and a new sewer system for the Ayersville area.
Poggemeyer has 13 offices throughout the United States, six of which are in Ohio. The firm has been in business for more than 40 years, serving government, commercial, industrial and private sector clients, and is ranked among the nation's top 500 design firms according to Engineering News-Record Magazine.
Service awards: The Campbell Soup Supply Co. of Napoleon has honored two employees for 25 years of service.
Steven Beals began his career with Campbell on July 2, 1984, and has worked in the warehouse, can plant and V-8 department. He currently works as a mechanic and previously fabricated an arm for a cap sorter machine that reduced downtime due to jamming.
Beals and his wife, Wendy, have three children.
Joel Mahlman will celebrate his 25th year of service on July 2.
He began work as a loader/unloader in the soup plant and currently works as a coordinator on first shift.
Joel and his wife, Tina, have four children and five grandchildren.
Summer associate: The international law firm of Squire, Sanders & Dempsey LLP,. has announced its 2009 class of summer associates. Six promising law students have joined the Columbus office.
Jordan Carr of Defiance, a second-year law student at The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, will participate in the summer program.
Prior to law school, he graduated with a degree in business administration and minor in political science from Ohio University in Athens.
