State Patrol

Monday, 11:30 p.m., on Ohio 66, south of Watson Road, a car driven by Shane Lumpkins, 18, 10230 Paulding County Road 179, Oakwood, struck a tree. Lumpkins was cited for failure to control. Damage to the vehicle was heavy.

Today, 2:50 a.m., on Defiance-Henry County Line Road, north of Schatz Road, a car driven by Timothy Dennie, 25, 27433 Bowman Road, struck a deer. Damage to the vehicle was light.

Defiance Sheriff

Today, Edward Dalton, 37, Defiance, was charged with disorderly conduct while intoxicated after an alleged incident on Ralston Avenue.

Monday, Angel Cranson, 20, Defiance, was served a bench warrant from Defiance Municipal Court.

Sunday, Dereck Davenport, 27, Defiance, was charged with theft and criminal trespassing following an alleged incident on Christy Road.

Defiance Police

Sunday, 9:15 p.m., at North Clinton Street and Elliott Road, a truck driven by Amanda Fox, 20, Edon, and a truck driven by Cody Agler, 23, 104 S. Hill St., Napoleon, collided. Fox was cited for a red light violation. Damage was moderate to Agler's vehicle and heavy to Fox's.

Monday, Mark Deel, 28, Defiance, was arrested on a bench warrant from Defiance Municipal Court.

Monday, Anthony Singleton, 36, Defiance, was charged with domestic violence after an alleged incident in Defiance.

Monday, Martin Monroe, 41, Defiance, was charged with driving under suspension following a traffic stop on Jefferson Avenue.

Monday, a garage door window was reportedly broken at 305 W. Sessions St.

Henry Sheriff

Monday, 3:21p.m., on County Road M, west of County Road 11, a sport utility vehicle driven by Kristie Simon, 28, H-570 Ohio 65, Malinta, struck a utility pole. Simon was cited for failure to control. Damage to the vehicle was heavy.

 

Monday, Shannon Underwood, 31, Liberty Center, was charged with child endangerment after an alleged incident at 109 E. Maple St., Liberty Center.

Monday, Tammy Miller, 49, Liberty Center, was issued a summons on a charge of passing bad checks.

Paulding Sheriff

Monday, 1:20 a.m., on Ohio 49, north of County Road 214, a car driven by Cory Maganlas, 12495 Road 51, Antwerp, struck a deer. Damage to the vehicle was moderate.

Saturday, 4:40 p.m., on U.S. 24, west of U.S. 127, a truck driven by George Mast, 26, 17249 Road 8, Cecil, struck a guardrail. Mast was cited for failure to control. Damage to the vehicle was moderate.

Williams Sheriff

Today, 1:17 a.m., on County Road H, east of County Road 10, a truck driven by Corey Bell, 19, 409 N. Defiance St., Stryker, struck a deer. Damage to the vehicle was light.

Ridgeville Township

Fire -- Monday, 5:19 p.m., at Ohio 34 and Henry County Road 24, firefighters were called to extinguish a grass fire.

Defiance Common Pleas

Zane Bartley, 23, Oakwood, pleaded guilty to illegal assembly or possession of chemicals for the manufacture of drugs, a third-degree felony, according to Prosecutor Morris Murray's office. He was given a three-year prison term. Bartley admitted that he possessed anhydrous ammonia and equipment used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine.

Joyce Trowbridge, 70, Marysville, pleaded guilty to escape, a third-degree felony. She was given a one-year prison term. Trowbridge failed to report to the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio as previously ordered by the Defiance County Common Pleas Court.

Lawrence Dix, 37, Paulding, appeared for sentencing on a charge of identity fraud, a third-degree felony, and was placed on community control for three years. Dix used the identity of another person to obtain electric service while residing in Sherwood.

Cheryl Price, 52, Hicksville, appeared for sentencing on a charge of forgery, a fifth-degree felony. She was placed on community control for two years and ordered to make $354.85 in restitution to the victim. Price signed a check without the owner's permission.

Alyssa Ramirez, 22, 523 Haig St., appeared for sentencing on a charge of tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony. She was placed on community control for three years and $218 seized by the Multi-Area Narcotics Task Force was forfeited. Ramirez destroyed or concealed evidence related to a criminal investigation that was to be initiated at her residence.

Courtney Smith, 18, 622 Ottawa Ave., pleaded no contest to falsification, a first-degree misdemeanor, and was found guilty. She was given a six-month jail sentence. Smith admitted that she made a false statement while under oath.

Chad Williams, 18, 17227 Hill Road, appeared for sentencing on a charge of robbery, a third-degree felony. He was placed on community control for three years and ordered to have no contact with the victims or three co-defendants. Williams aided and abetted in the use, or threat, of force against two victims at Wal-Mart while demanding property.

 

Dale Collins, 37, Paulding, pleaded guilty to failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer, a third-degree felony. A presentence investigation was ordered and bond was set at $100,000 cash with a 10 percent allowance provision. Sentencing was set for July 22.

 

Ashley LaCombe, 22, 13977 Dohoney Road, pleaded guilty to theft, a fifth-degree felony. A presentence investigation was ordered and her personal-recognizance bond was continued. Sentencing was set for July 29.

 

April Larman, 29, Mustang, Okla., pleaded guilty to misuse of credit cards, a third-degree felony; and theft from an elderly person or disabled adult, a fifth-degree felony. A presentence investigation was ordered and her $50,000 cash bond with a 10 percent allowance provision was continued. Sentencing was set for July 22.

Aunjamo McCree, 37, 823 Nicholas St., pleaded guilty to domestic violence, a fourth-degree felony. A presentence investigation was ordered and his personal-recognizance bond was continued. Sentencing was set for Aug. 3.

 

Sivad Davis, 22, 25918 Bowman Road, pleaded no contest to unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, a fourth-degree felony, and was found guilty. A presentence investigation was ordered and he was given a personal-recognizance bond. Sentencing was set for July 29.

 

Evelyn Castillo, 41, 500 Clinton St., pleaded not guilty to theft, a fifth-degree felony. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for July 2 and she was given a personal-recognizance bond.

Rebecca Clemens, 57, 822 Jefferson Ave., pleaded not guilty to filing incomplete, false and fraudulent returns and six counts of failure to remit state income taxes withheld from an employee, each a fifth-degree felony. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for July 6 and she was given a personal-recognizance bond.

 

Jack Killion, 17, 1675 Terrawenda Drive, pleaded not guilty to assault, a fourth-degree felony. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for July 6 and bond was set at $200,000 cash with a 10 percent allowance provision.

Arthur Phillips III, 49, Lima, pleaded not guilty to breaking and entering, a fifth-degree felony. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for July 29 and he was given a personal-recognizance bond.

 

Lonnie Schappert, 53, 8431/2 Washington Ave., pleaded not guilty to DUI, a third-degree felony. A pretrial hearing was scheduled for July 6 and he was given a personal-recognizance bond.

An article in Monday's Crescent-News incorrectly stated that the Defiance County Sheriff's Office believes that a motor malfunction contributed to the capsizing of a boat containing Keith York, 63, Grover Hill.

The sheriff's office has not released the cause of the boat accident, which led to the death of York.
