Local plumbing company selects new manager

Stark's Inc., a local plumbing, heating and air conditioning company with offices in Defiance, Bowling Green and Bryan, recently promoted Jeramey Perez to service manager. Perez will now be responsible for the company's commercial and residential service department.

Prior to his management role, Perez was a heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC) and plumbing service technician for the company. In addition to several years of field experience, Perez has completed coursework in advanced air conditioning service and thermostat systems. He earned certification through North American Technician Excellence (NATE), a non-profit certification program for technicians in the HVAC and refrigeration fields. He also holds a universal refrigeration card.

Perez is based at the company's headquarters in Bryan, but manages service for all three Stark's locations.

He resides in Archbold with his wife and two daughters.

Store to open: Eliza Henry LLC will open for business on July 1 at 112 N. Defiance St. in Archbold. Owners Terry and Donna King of rural Pettisville have purchased the inventory and fixtures of Peaches Little People from Carolyn Bower of Bryan.

The store will cater to those needing infant and children's clothing and gifts as well as gifts for the new parents. Handcrafted items from local artisans will also be available for custom orders.

Initial business hours will be Wednesday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m.-7 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

Retirement announced: Dave Memmer, an Edward Jones financial adviser with an office located on Fifth Street, has announced his plans to retire within a year. Memmer has served with the firm since 1988 and is anticipating his retirement by June 2010.

Fellow Edward Jones financial adviser Matt Schmenk has relocated his existing office at 1018 Ralston Ave. to the Fifth Street office. Schmenk will continue to serve his existing clients, and work with Memmer and his clients, as Memmer transitions into retirement.

Green qualities: Manufactured Housing Enterprises Inc. of Bryan has announced its partnership with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Energy Star program. Through this partnership, Manufactured Housing Enterprises will provide homebuyers with energy-efficient new homes that save money on utility bills, offer greater comfort and better performance and help to protect the environment.

To earn the Energy Star label, a home must meet strict guidelines for energy efficiency set by the U.S. EPA. These homes are at least 15 percent more energy efficient than homes built to the 2004 International Residential Code.

Manufactured Housing Enterprises Inc. is Ohio's largest home builder and has been in business since 1965. The company builds all types of commercial projects and residential housing including HUD code homes, modular ranch homes, cape cods and two-story homes.
