Chief names Stafford to new position

Defiance resident and longtime Chief Super Market Inc. employee Theresa Stafford has been named to the company's newly created position of director of human resources and risk management.

"It gives me great personal pride and pleasure to name Theresa Stafford to this newly created senior level position," said Chief Super Market president and chief executive officer Stephanie Skylar. "Her many years of experience and dedicated service to our company make her the clear choice for this important executive position. She is extraordinarily well qualified to take on this new challenge."

In her new role, Stafford will oversee support services for more than 1,000 employees in 13 stores across northwest Ohio. In addition, she will manage the company's portfolio of property, liability and health insurance.

Stafford has been with Chief since 1994 in a number of capacities. She was most recently administrative services director for the company, is corporate secretary for all Chief-affiliated companies and has served as a member of the Chief executive team since 2005.

Stafford has an associate degree in applied business from Northwest State Community College. She and her husband, Tom, reside in Defiance. Their son, Scott, is an undergraduate student at Miami University, Oxford, majoring in business economics.

Boroff earns certification: Vicki Boroff, manager of human resources and development for Chief Super Market Inc., has earned certification as a a professional in human resources.

Awarded by the HR Certification Institute, certification as a professional in human resources signifies mastery of the body of theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of human resource management.

"Certification as a professional in human resources clearly demonstrates Vicki's personal commitment to excellence as well as her professional commitment to serving the best interest of our company and its associates," said Chief Super Market president and CEO Stephanie Skylar.

Boroff has been with Chief since 2001 and has worked in human resources since 2003. Boroff and her husband, Rex, reside in Paulding with their son, Remington.

Name project manager: Aaron Daman, formerly of Defiance, has recently been promoted to project manager at Bostleman Corp., a construction manager/real estate developer located in Holland, Ohio.

Daman has been with Bostleman for five years and also recently became one of the firm's U.S. Green Building Council's LEED accredited professionals.

Among Daman's clients are University of Toledo, Lourdes College, the Toledo Zoo and Wood County Hospital.
