Meghan Rogers Recital -- St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 400 Wayne Ave., Saturday, 2 p.m. Rogers, a graduating senior at Defiance High School and daughter of Scott and Deb Rogers, will perform piano, voice and trumpet selections from contemporary Christian, classical and Broadway genres. This recital is open to the public.

Baked Steak Dinner -- St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 710 Joe E. Brown Ave., Holgate, Sunday, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Menu includes baked steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, cole slaw, applesauce, roll, pie and beverages. Free-will offering, carry-outs available. Proceeds benefit church daycare program.

Word of Faith Seminar -- North Mt. Zion Church, 22857 Ohio 15, rural Continental, Sunday at 6 p.m. and Monday through Wednesday at 7 p.m. nightly. This seminar is a call for discernment. Guest evangelist is Justin Peters, from First Baptist Church in Vicksburg, Miss., who suffers from a mild case of cerebral palsy.

St. Mary Catholic Altar and Rosary Society Potluck Dinner -- St. Mary Catholic Parish Ministry Center, 715 Jefferson Ave., Tuesday, 5:30 p.m. Bring a covered dish and table service, meat and beverages provided. There will be installation of officers and bingo.

Allen, who serves St. James Lutheran in Payne and St. John's Lutheran in Briceton, is marking the 40th anniversary of his ordination.

Kevin Apple Family Gospel Concert -- Westhope Bible Church, June 14, 10 a.m. The group, now consisting of Ken, Ernestine and their daughter Kimberly, travel across the country from their home base near Nashville, Tennessee. Everyone welcome.

"Strength For Service" Sunday -- Grace United Methodist Church, 125 W. High St., Hicksville, June 14, 10:30 a.m. Special music and short patriotic ceremony featuring the chancel choir. The public is welcome and invited to join in offering spiritual support for military and public service professionals.

Life Line Screening -- St. Paul Lutheran Church, Clinton and Arabella, June 16. Tests for stroke, atrial fibrillation, abdominal aortic aneurysm and peripheral arterial disease; finger stick blood tests. "Sharing Bread" Gathering -- Ponderosa Restaurant, Defiance, July 7, 5:30 p.m. Area residents who are hurting for any reason are invited to attend this very informal gathering for coffee, dessert or a full meal. Persons are responsible for the cost of their food and beverage. There is no set agenda. Greeters are Diane Mayer and Judy Sauer. Everyone welcome.
