Gary Rothman
PLEASANT BEND -- Gary "Buck" Rothman, 66, of Pleasant Bend, Ohio, passed away at his residence on November 1, 2009.
He was born August 27, 1943, in Napoleon, Ohio, to the late Norman H. Rothman and Arlene M. (Burill) Rothman Hagerman. Gary previously worked as a truck driver for the Farmers Elevator and worked at D-4 Industries of Ottawa, Ohio, where he made deliveries. He was a member of the New Bavaria AMVETS Post 599 and a longtime social member of the New Bavaria VFW Post 8847. He served in the Army National Guard from 1963-1969.
He is survived by a sister, Joyce Beiswenger of Whitehouse, Ohio; an uncle, Kenneth Burill of Pleasant Bend, Ohio; a nephew, Randy; a niece, Debra; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Arlene.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2009, at 11 a.m. at the Snyder Funeral Home, Holgate, with the Rev. Ed Briggeman officiating. Burial will follow at the Pleasant Township Cemetery with military honors accorded by the joint veteran posts of New Bavaria. Friends will be received at Snyder Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2-8 p.m. and on Thursday from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home with AMVETS service at 7 p.m.
