Trent Amstutz

COLUMBUS -- Former Payne resident, Trent M. "Scoot" Amstutz, 21, Columbus, died Monday, June 29, 2009, at his residence.

He was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, on August 10, 1987, the son of Edward C. and Cindy S. (Burk) Amstutz. He was employed as a waiter at Bel Lago Waterfront Bistro, Westerville. He was a graduate of Wayne Trace High School and attended Columbus State University. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and outdoorsman.

He is survived by his parents, Edward and Cindy Amstutz, Columbus; paternal grandmother, Beverly Amstutz, Payne; maternal grandparents, Arlen "Dub" and Joanne Burk, Payne; maternal grandmother, Patricia Yenser, Payne; two sisters, Tammie (Joe) Roop and Trisha (Kellen) Koenn, all of Columbus; one brother, Tim (Dallas Hogrebe) Amstutz, Detroit; a niece, Avery Roop; a nephew and godson, Cole Amstutz; and his dog, Toby.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, John L. "Jack" Amstutz in 2000.

Funeral mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 3, 2009, at the Divine Mercy Catholic Church, Payne, with Rev. G. Allan Fillman officiating. Burial will be in the St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Payne. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. and 5-8 p.m. Thursday, July 2, 2009, at the Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding, where a wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m.
