Michael Chaney Michael T. Chaney, 57, Defiance, died Saturday, October 31, 2009, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Defiance. Mike was born in Dayton, Ohio, on January 2, 1952. He was the son of the late Bud and Patricia (Yost) Chaney. He graduated from Defiance College and was employed at GM Powertrain for over 30 years before retiring in 2008. He was a member of Defiance VFW and the Eagles. Surviving are two daughters, Michelle Chaney of Round Rock, Texas, and Angie Chaney of Defiance; two brothers, Bill Chaney of Houston, Texas, and Gary Chaney of Lawrenceburg, Ind.; grandchildren, Jocelyn and Jacob Chaney; and his former wife of 30 years, Sylvia Chaney of Defiance. He was preceded in death by his parents. Services will be at Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home, 1753 S. Clinton St., Defiance, at 12 p.m. on Thursday, November 5. Friends are invited to call from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m.-12 p.m. Thursday at Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, suggested memorials are to the American Stroke Association, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, Texas 75231; or the donor's choice.
