Revival -- Union Chapel Church of God, 17983 Williams County Road A (at the intersection of County Road 18), tonight and Saturday at 7 p.m. nightly; and Sunday at 9 a.m. (during Sunday school hour) and 7 p.m. Guest speaker is missionary, evangelist, author and artist Dr. Bill Haag. Chalk talks, object lessons for children, nursery available.

Women's Retreat -- First Presbyterian Church, corner Caroline and Cherry streets, Paulding, Saturday, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Theme is "Hearts United in Love, Faith and Prayer." Speakers include Linda Ross of Paulding and Martha Punches of Defiance. Special music. Cost of $13 includes catered lunch.

Family Conference -- North Mount Zion Church, 22857 Ohio 15, rural Continental, Saturday at 6 p.m. (family activity time, hamburgers and hot dogs served); Sunday at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m.; and Monday and Tuesday at 7 p.m. each night. Guest speaker is Dr. Michael Peck, vice president of Baptist Church Planters in Elyria. Families wishing to have private counseling sessions with Dr. Peck can make appointments with him. Final Farewell Message -- Union Chapel Church of God, 17983 Williams County Road A (at the intersection of County Road 18), Sunday, 10 a.m. Pastor Lee Hiney will preach his final sermon. Everyone welcome to attend and bid him farewell.

Gymanfa Ganu (Welsh hymn singing) -- Vaughnsville United Methodist Church, 223 Findlay St. (Ohio 12, one block east of Ohio 115), Sunday, 4 p.m. Gymanfa Ganu is a Welsh tradition of gathering to sing hymns in Welsh and English. Experienced Gymanfa Ganu singers in the area are invited to contribute their voices for the program. Light supper will follow the program.

"Booth Brothers" Concert -- Dupont Church of the Brethren, Dupont, Sunday, 6 p.m. This trio has garnered many fans across country with their appearances on the Bill Gaither Homecoming tours. Tickets are $10 each. For more information, call 419-596-4314.

Community Choir Festival -- Paulding Church of the Nazarene, 210 Dooley Drive, Sunday, 6 p.m. Choirs and singing groups from Paulding area churches will perform at this annual event. Come for an enjoyable night of music.

"Austins Bridge" Concert -- Huber Theater and Opera House, Sunday, 6:30 p.m. This Nashville-based trio won a Dove Award in 2008 and is currently finishing their second album. Free-will offering.

Election Day Meals -- Ayersville United Methodist Church, 27728 Ayersville Road, Tuesday, serving breakfast from 7-10:30 a.m.; lunch from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. with homemade soup, sandwich and dessert followed by the annual pancake and sausage supper from 4:30-7 p.m. Free-will offering.

Election Day Sauerkraut Supper & Bazaar -- St. John Lutheran Church, 655 Wayne Ave., Tuesday, 4:30-7 p.m.. Menu includes sausage, roast pork, homemade sauerkraut, cole slaw, mashed potatoes and gravy, homemade applesauce and pie. Cost is $8.50 for adults, $4 for children 12 and under. Drive-through carry-out available, can pre-order by calling 419-782-1751. Bazaar starts at 1:30 p.m. and runs through the supper hours.

Free Community Soup Supper -- Grace United Methodist Church, 121 W. High St., Hicksville, Tuesday, 5-6:30 p.m.

Free Community Supper -- St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church, 1400 Glenwood Ave., Napoleon, Nov. 3, 5-6 p.m., hosted by the Episcopal Shared Ministry of Northwest Ohio.

"Sharing Bread" Gathering -- Nancy's Restaurant, 1917 S. Jefferson Ave., Defiance, Tuesday, 5:30 p.m. Area residents who are hurting for any reason are invited to attend this very informal gathering for coffee, dessert or a full meal. Persons are responsible for the cost of their food and beverage. There is no set agenda. Greeters are Diane Mayer and Judy Sauer.

130th Annual Chicken Pie Supper -- First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Wednesday, 5-7 p.m. Carry-outs available from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Menu includes homemade chicken pie and gravy, real mashed potatoes, cole slaw, cranberry salad and assorted dessert pies. Bake sale held from 4:30-7 p.m. Everyone welcome.

Free Community Supper -- Zion's Lutheran Church, corner of East Second Street and Greenhouse Avenue, Wednesday, 5:15-6:30 p.m. Monthly food pantry and clothes closet services available.

Cancer Warriors Support Group -- Dupont Church of the Brethren, Dupont, Wednesday, 7 p.m. Guest speaker is Kieu Okuley, who will share information on cancer drugs and the cancer boutique in Defiance.

Turkey Supper -- Rose Hill Church of God, 17965 Road 138 (corner of Ohio 637 and Charloe Trail), rural Paulding, Thursday, 4-7 p.m. Free-will offering. Carry-outs available for $7 per dinner.

World Community Day Program -- St. John Catholic Church, 510 Jackson Ave., Nov. 6, 1:30 p.m. Theme is "Peace-ing" one world together." Guest speaker is Tim Houck. All area women welcome. Please bring a non-perishable food item to help supply local food pantries.

Community Breakfast -- Ayersville United Methodist Church, 27728 Ayersville Road, Nov. 7, 7:30-10:30 a.m. Menu includes bacon, sausage links, hash browns, scrambled eggs, sausage gravy and biscuits, pancakes, fruit, coffee cake and beverages. Free-will offering.

Holiday Shoppers Village -- Sherwood United Methodist Church, 510 N. Harrison St. (U.S. 127), Nov. 7, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Event features lunch, baked goods, cinnamon rolls, homemade noodles, craft vendors, Christmas decorations, gift items and silent auction. All proceeds to support mission work, everyone welcome.

Holiday Crafts and Lunch Show -- Neapolis Church Of Christ, Main and Central, Neapolis, Nov. 7, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Homemade trinkets and treasures ranging from chocolates, afghans, singing bears, rugs and Christmas cards to purses, candles and ceramics. Several new crafters and their creations will be featured. The Heavenly Cafe will be open from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. with soup, sandwiches and homemade pies. All proceeds to missions. Gospel Sing -- First Baptist Church, 1304 LaGrange St., Napoleon, Nov. 7, 6 p.m. Special guests include "The Ambassadors" from Antwerp, Joann Ankney from Cecil, Charlie and Karen Dulaney from Defiance, and other local singers. Refreshments served after the singing.

Hallelujah Celebration -- Independence United Methodist Church, 09966 Adams Ridge Road (just north of County Road 424), Nov. 8, 9 a.m. Special musical guests are "Legacy." Brunch follows service.

Church Homecoming -- Christ United Methodist Church, 311 S. Main St., Continental, Nov. 8, 9:15 a.m., Sunday School; 10:30 a.m., worship service with Son's Rays chapel outreach group from Ohio Northern University; 12 p.m., potluck luncheon; 1 p.m., celebration service. Sam Jones, ONU freshman and Son's Rays member, will be make his first off-campus group appearance at his home church. The public is invited to attend all events.

Jerry Lucas: "Dr. Memory" -- First Baptist Church, 1399 S. Jefferson Ave., Nov. 8, 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.; and Nov. 9, 6:30 p.m. Basketball Hall of fame member Jerry Lucas will share his Christ-lead ministry. His topics are "Improving Family Relationships," "Family Learning Made Fun and Easy" and "Names and Faces Made Easy." Free-offering.

Swiss Steak Dinner -- St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Domersville and Nagel Roads, Nov. 8, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Nov. 8. Carry-out available. Bake sale. Free-will donation.

Generations of Faith Event -- St. John Catholic Church, 510 Jackson Ave., Nov. 8, 12:45-2:45 p.m.; and Nov. 11, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Father Todd Dominique and participants will explore what it means to believe in "one Lord, Jesus Christ." The Defiance Catholic community welcomes everyone to this intergenerational, lifelong faith formation experience.

"The Tacketts" Concert -- Auglaize Chapel Church of God, 22652 Rd 60, rural Oakwood (3.5 miles south of Oakwood), Nov. 8, 6 p.m. Come and hear this talented contemporary gospel trio from Defiance. Free-will offering.

Fall Auction -- Pettisville Missionary Church, 19055 County Road D, Pettisville, Nov. 11, family dinner starts at 5:30 and auction begins at 6:30. Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University -- Poplar Ridge Church of the Brethren, 06970 Domersville Road, rural Defiance, Nov. 11, 6 p.m. This life-changing class on personal finance continues at same time every Wednesday for 13 weeks. "Talley Trio" Concert -- First Baptist Church, 1399 S. Jefferson Ave., Nov. 13, 7 p.m. The Talley Trio is one of Southern gospel music's most well known family groups. This is part of the "At Home with The Tacketts" concert series. A love offering will be taken.

Christmas for Kids Fund-raiser Dance -- St. Paul Lutheran Church, corner of Clinton and Arabella, Nov. 13, 8-11 p.m. This event is for area students in grades 6-8. Admission is $5 or a brand new toy to benefit Christmas for Kids. Help make a difference in a child's life this Christmas.

Monthly Contemporary Mass -- St. Augustine Catholic Church, 221 E. Clinton St., Napoleon, Nov. 14, 4:30 p.m.

Free Community Thanksgiving Meal -- Ayersville United Methodist Church, 27728 Ayersville Rd., Nov. 14, 5-7 p.m. Everyone invited, advance reservations are appreciated but not required. Shut-ins needing meals delivered should call the church at 419-395-1742.

150th Anniversary Celebration -- St. John Lutheran Church, corner of U.S. 6 and Ohio 66, rural Stryker (just south of Four County Career Center), Nov. 15, celebration worship service at 10 a.m., catered dinner at Ridgeville Legion Hall at 12:30 p.m.

Remedy Drive Concert -- Napoleon Church of the Nazarene, 630 Appian Ave., Napoleon, Nov. 15, 7:30 p.m. (doors open at 7 p.m.) Special guest is Not Forgotten. Tickets are $5 (pre-sale) and $10 at the door. Tickets available at The Ridge Project (717 Perry St.) and Hershey's Ice Cream (Northtowne Mall) in Defiance and the church office in Napoleon.

Rummage Sale -- Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church, 301 Carter Rd. (corner of Ohio 66 south and Carter Rd.), Nov. 21, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Items to be sold include portable room dividers, tables, youth group crafts and many miscellaneous items. Continental breakfast and soup and sandwich lunch served, free-will offering. Proceeds will go to furnishing the new building addition.

 

Mission Cupboard -- Sherwood Baptist Church, 210 W. Elm St., Sherwood, Nov. 21, 10 a.m.-12 p.m. Empty cans will also be collected during this time to raise money for the mission cupboard.
