VAN WERT -- Vantage Career Center's culinary arts and food career students learn on the job while running the Cup and Saucer Restaurant. The restaurant is open for lunch on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays each week, seating guests from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. The Cup and Saucer Restaurant is the career technical lab for students enrolled in the two-year culinary arts program. By the time the students graduate, they have experienced many different facets of restaurant management, including front of the house (hospitality and cashiering) as well as meal planning, preparation and serving. For those students planning to continue their education in chef training or restaurant management, it serves as an introductory experience. Reservations are being taken for the annual Thanksgiving feast luncheon. Due to its popularity, it will be held two days this year -- Nov. 17 and 19 -- from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. This year's buffet will include a variety of salads, meats, vegetables, breads and desserts for $8.95. Reservations are necessary for this special event and can be made by calling 419-238-5411, ext. 130. The Christmas buffet lunch will be held Dec. 16 and 18. Reservations are also required. Comments
