DAYTONA BEACH -- Bryan graduate Chris Carpenter tossed five shutout innings in his debut with the Daytona Cubs on Thursday in a 2-1 setback to Jupiter. Carpenter fired six scoreless innings and fanned five but did not figure into the decision.
