ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENTS
University of Findlay has announced its recent graduates.
They are: JAMIE LORENTZ, Bryan, magna cum laude, bachelor's in finance; SHANE RIEKE, Defiance, magna cum laude, bachelor's in physical therapy/personal training; NICOLE WAGNER, Defiance, master's degree in education; ALLYSON HOOPS, Deshler, bachelor's in strength and conditioning; BETH HOOPS, Deshler, master's in education; PAUL WRIGHT, Deshler, magna cum laude, bachelor's in business management; MELANIE DIANDA, Liberty Center, master's in education; Brennen Flory, Liberty Center, bachelor's pre-veterinary medicine/biology; MEGAN DETMER, Napoleon, equine business management/AA equestrian studies; Danielle Zumfelde, Napoleon, master's in physical therapy; JESSICA CLAUDIO, Bryan, bachelor's in veterinary medicine; BRANDON FORSHEY, Wauseon, cum laude, bachelor's in pre-veterinary medicine/biology; KATHRYN GRIESER, Wauseon, summa cum laude, bachelor's in occupational therapy; ANGELA PRIOR, Wauseon, cum laude, bachelor's in social work.

Two local students at Niagara University, N.Y., have been named to the dean's list for the 2009 spring semester. Named to the dean's list were ADAM WAGNER and CAMERON STYKEMAIN.

MICHAEL SHERRY, son of WILLIAM and LINDA SHERRY, Defiance, recently graduated from College of Engineering at Ohio Northern University, Ada. He received his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. On campus, Sherry was active in the Gaming Society, Kappa Kappa Psi honorary for bandsmen and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. He is a graduate of Tinora.

LINDSEY LEACH, daughter of RICHARD and JANICE LEACH, Defiance, recently graduated with high distinction from the College of Pharmacy at Ohio Northern University. She received her doctor of pharmacy degree in pharmacy.
On campus, Leach was active in the Academy of Students of Pharmacy, Kappa Alpha Theta social fraternity for women, Rho Chi Society pharmacy honorary, the yearbook staff and Kappa Alpha Theta social fraternity for women. Leach is a graduate of Tinora.

RACHEL RUFENACHT, daughter of RICHARD and EILEEN RUFENACHT, Defiance, recently graduated with high distinction from College of Arts and Sciences at Ohio Northern University, Ada. She received her bachelor's degree in language arts education.
On campus, Rufenacht was active in Sigma Tau Delta English honorary, the Polaris literary magazine, Northern Christian Fellowship, the Son's Rays Deputatioin Team, Kappa Phi Christian sorority, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Rufenacht is a graduate of Ayersville.

JONATHAN NICHOLSON, a freshman computer science major at Spring Arbor University, Spring Arbor, Mich., has been named to the dean's list for the spring 2009 semester. He is the son of JEFF and DENISE NICHOLSON, Continental.

LESLEY VOGELSONG has been named to the dean's list for the 2009 spring semester as a sophomore in the Judith Herb College of Education at University of Toledo. An alumna of Defiance High School, she is a member of Pi Beta Phi. She is the daughter of DAVE and ROBERTA VOGELSONG, Defiance.

NICK STRATA of Defiance has been selected to participate in the 2010 Ohio Legislative Service Commission Internship program. The nationally recognized and highly competitive program takes place at the State House in Columbus and provides participants the opportunity to gain first-hand experience in state government. Interns will work with members of the Ohio General Assembly, take part in monthly educational seminars that examine different aspects of public policy.
Strata, a graduate of Wilmington College, Wilmington, is one fo 24 interns who were chosen from among 150 applicants to the 2010 program. LSC internships are professional, paid, full-time positions. Strata will begin the year-long program in November.
MARGARET KEELER was awarded the President's scholarship from University of Findlay. A recent graduate of Edgerton High School, she was active in Spanish club. The daughter of KENDRA and BYRON KEELER, Edgerton, she has enrolled as a pre-veterinary medicine major.
