OAKWOOD -- Aaron D. Kohart, 95, Oakwood, died at 5 a.m. on Monday, June 29, 2009, at the Gardens of Paulding in Paulding. Mr. Kohart was born April 5, 1914, in Oakwood, to the late William and Elizabeth (Shafer) Kohart. On September 1, 1939, he married Doris Bennett, who survives in Paulding. Also surviving are two sons, Ronald (Pat) Kohart of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Michael (Connie) Kohart of Oakwood; and four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were three brothers, Ralph, Jacob and Paul Kohart; and three sisters, Gladys Taylor, Cora Funk and Marie Bramblet. Mr. Kohart was a retired dairy farmer. He was a member of Twin Oaks United Methodist Church, Oakwood, a Sunday school teacher and a 4-H advisor. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 2, 2009, at Twin Oaks United Methodist Church, Oakwood, with Rev. Jeff Mullinix and Rev. Amy Haines officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Chapel Cemetery, Oakwood. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday at Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Oakwood, and from 10 a.m. until time of services Thursday at the church.
