Honors day convocation recognizes students

Defiance College held its annual honors day convocation recently to recognize academic achievements of students. Special recognition was also given to faculty and staff.

The distinguished faculty citation was awarded to Dr. Timothy Rickabaugh, associate professor of sport science.

Outstanding service awards for faculty, staff and a graduating senior were presented to Dr. Susan Wajert, professor of business administration and coordinator of MBA program; Sherry Steingass, administrative assistant for education division; and graduating senior Kasey Carlisle, Paulding.

Students receiving awards during the convocation and departmental ceremonies were: Senior Defiance scholars, Jennifer Creighton of Evansport, Stephanie Lieto of Monroe, Mich., Corynne Long of Willard and Sarah Manes, Covington; senior pilgrim scholars, Kara Brant of Frankfort, Ind., John Kaufman of Leipsic, Shannon O'Dell of Pennville, Ind., Cynthia Toth of Oregon, Lindsay Vandemark and Amy Von Deylen of Defiance and Erin Wendt, Oak Harbor; and senior Bonner leaders, Lauren Aldridge of Ypsilanti, Mich., Kasey Carlisle of Paulding, Christopher Khoma of Sheffield Lake and Andrea Slattery, Angola, Ind.
