Esterline named to state board

COLUMBUS -- Kenneth Esterline, president of the Northwest Ohio Educational Service Center governing board and a board member at Four County Career Center, is among five public school board members named to the Ohio School Boards Association's (OSBA) 2008 All-Ohio School Board.

Esterline, West Unity, was recognized on Wednesday during the 53rd annual OSBA Capital Conference and Trade Show in Columbus.

All-Ohio School Board candidates are nominated by their respective school boards. OSBA regional committees then select the five winners. Esterline has a combined 26 years of service on various area boards including the West Unity Board of Education, Williams County Board of Education, Four County Career Center board and the Northwest Ohio Educational Service Center board. Esterline represents OSBA's northwest region. He has served as a board president or vice president for 23 of the 26 years.

During his board career, Esterline has participated in countless school activities, including judging science fairs and coaching high school varsity baseball. He also has served on numerous committees with his two school boards. A community college instructor at Northwest State Community College near Archbold, he is a local chamber of commerce member.

At NSCC, Esterline is the local Ohio Education Association president and serves on two committees.
