Penske Racing teammates Sam Hornish Jr. and Brad Keselowski ranked 1-2 Thursday morning in the first practice of the season for the NASCAR Nationwide Series at Daytona International Speedway. During the second practice session of the day when Hornish was working on his qualifying setup, the Penske Racing driver was 22nd fastest.

Hornish, who finished fourth in the series standings last year, turned a fast lap of 191.836 mph on the 2.5-mile track in his Ford Mustang in preparation for Saturday afternoon's season-opening DRIVE4COPD 300.

Brian Scott, the newest driver of the No. 2 Chevrolet for Richard Childress Racing, was third fastest at 190.953 mph. His time edged the 190.933 mph lap turned in by his RCR teammate, Austin Dillon, in another Camaro.

Elliott Sadler, runner-up in the Nationwide series the past two seasons, was fifth-fastest in his first ride with Joe Gibbs Racing. JGR teammate Brian Vickers was sixth on the board.

Final practice is scheduled for this morning from 10:15 to 11:50 a.m.
