From the time he was 6-years-old, Defiance's Ben Rath has been spending a lot of his time in the swimming pool. It wasn't until Rath's freshman year at Defiance High School, however, that he realized that if he put in the time and effort, he could become a state-caliber swimmer. Now a senior, Rath will be heading to Canton's Natatorium this week to compete at the OHSAA Division II State Swim Meet for the second straight year.
