When Derek Drewes drained two bonus tosses to give Tinora a 71-70 edge over visiting Bryan with 7.2 seconds left in overtime, it appeared as though the Rams just might hold on for their eight win of the season.
Following a Tinora timeout, Golden Bears junior guard Austin Schimmoeller threw an inbounds pass in to Jason Hug, who quickly got the ball into the hands of junior Jordan Spiess.
With the clock moving in slow-motion, Spiess got the ball across the timeline and dished the ball back off to Schimmoeller just outside the perimeter on the left wing.
There the Bryan junior launched an off-balance shot that found nothing but net, stunning Ram fans and igniting the visitors as the Bears pulled off a 73-71 overtime victory on Saturday evening at the Alan R. Moore Gymnasium.
