Boys state basketball poll 1-10-12

It will be a battle of state-ranked teams on Saturday when Defiance travels to face Wauseon.

The two unbeatens were both ranked in the first Associated Press boys basketball poll of the season. The Indians totaled 48 points from a state panel of sports writers and broadcasters to rank 13th in Division II while Defiance had 38 points to rank 15th.

Edgerton is the highest rated team from the six-county area at seventh in Division IV while Leipsic is 10th.

The only other area squad to be ranked is Archbold which is 20th in Division III.

Columbus Northland is the top-ranked team in Division I while the other three divisions are led by a trio of unbeatens. Dayton Dunbar is rated first in Division II, Bloom-Carroll leads Division III and Berlin Hiland tops Division IV.
