Defiance finished Western Buckeye League play with a winning record after defeating Elida in volleyball action on Senior Night, 26-24, 25-23, 26-24 on Thursday.

"The girls played well tonight," said Defiance coach Brooke Buti. "There were times where we were up and we would let them back in and make it more difficult for the end of the game, but the girls did finish.
"With this being Senior Night and our last WBL match, this is a huge win for us," concluded Buti. "Sarah Sanford had a great game attacking and serving for us and Kayle Pasterz did a great job on serve receive. That helped us to be able to run our combo plays.
"Megan Relyea did a good job being consistent at the serving line and Jade Frederick was reading their defense well when she was up at the net. These seniors are great leaders and they all played tough tonight."
Katrina Meeks paced Elida (8-13, 3-6 WBL) with 14 kills, while Kelsey Smith had 22 assists. Alex Hambleton added 23 digs.
