HICKSVILLE Despite the rain, the 11th annual Linus Slattery Memorial Golf Tournament was a success judging from the $29,864.02 raised. Proceeds from the tourney benefit Hospice the Caring Way of Defiance. Its a wonderful community event, said Stan Stuckey, who served as co-chairman of the Friday night activities for the fund-raiser.
