The banks of the Maumee River in Defiance will be the scene Sunday for an old-fashioned community picnic, band concert, history lesson and homemade kettle corn and apple pie all appetizingly baked into a single afternoon of fun and frolic. Billed as Johnny Appleseed Day, the free event will be held from 1-5 p.m. at Pontiac Park.
