Defiance County sheriffs deputies are preparing to handle what they believe will be several hundred applications for conceal-carry handgun permits when Ohios law becomes effective Thursday. The law House Bill 12 will allow law-abiding, firearm-trained citizens with no criminal record or history of mental illness to carry concealed handguns under certain circumstances.
