Challenges offenders face when re-entering society is focus of DC forum

With the unemployment rate at approximately 5 to 7 percent throughout northwest Ohio, finding a job that one is qualified for can be a tough accomplishment. For those with a past criminal history, the process becomes even more difficult.
Defiance College will host an interactive forum Re-entry of Individuals and Enriching Lives (RIEL) on Wednesday, with a variety of speakers participating. The purpose of the forum is to offer an information exchange between agencies that provide services to offenders and their families, explained Dr. Don Knueve, DCs professor of criminal justice and associate academic dean.
