CECIL Voters in Cecil will determine the outcome of two local levies on the March 2 ballot.
Village officials have placed an additional 5-mill levy for current expenses and an additional 9-mill levy for fire department expenses on the ballot. Both tax proposals are for a continuing period of time.
Mayor Gene Sheets said both levies are important to the village.
The levy for current expenses is expected to raise around $7,056 a year while the 9-mill levy is expected to raise approximately $12,700 a year.
