Defiance County superintendents painted a bleak picture of the financial future of Ohios educational system Thursday evening as dozens of area residents turned out for a public forum on school funding. Though the Ohio School Facilities Commission is one bright spot in the mix for school districts where construction is concerned, finding creative ways for administrators to fund the educational process can be a tough order to fill. The first in a series of public forums on school funding awareness was held Thursday at Defiance High School. The program, titled Strong Schools=Strong Communities: Who Really Pays for Our Childrens Education? brought out more than 75 interested persons including community and business leaders, educators, parents and concerned citizens.
