Bond set for suspect in stabbing

ANTWERP A Paulding County man accused of stabbing his estranged wife on Tuesday is being held in jail on a $500,000 bond. Charles Clifford Sr., 45, Antwerp, had his bond set this morning during an initial appearance before Paulding County Court Judge Tim Pieper. Clifford is charged with felonious assault, a second degree felony, for allegedly stabbing his estranged wife, Rachel Clifford, 35, rural Antwerp. She was taken to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne following the incident, suffering from serious visible injuries. Hospital officials would not release a condition report on the victim.
