Defiance City Council was only too happy to bolster a local companys expansion plans during its meeting Tuesday night. First council supported an ordinance allowing for the sale of industrial park property to benefit Omnisource, a local metal recycler, then supported a proposed tax abate- ment for the same companys $8.45 million expansion plan. Council also approved a third legislative item concerning community development block grants and discussed several miscellaneous topics, including a tourism bureau appointment and the city compost sites future.
