The water tower at General Motors Powertrains Defiance plant is being disassembled this week because it hasnt been utilized for several years. The company has other means to meet its water needs, said the local Powertrains human resources director Peter Felton. The work is being handled by a Kentucky-based specialty contractor, Nationwide Tank and Tower Co. Inc. The tower, which was constructed in the mid 1950s, is expected to be down by the end of today.
