The Defiance post of the Ohio Highway Patrol investigated a two-vehicle accident this morning that sent both drivers to the hospital and closed Ohio 15 for two hours. According to troopers, the accident occurred at 7:09 a.m. on Ohio 15, near Brunersburg, and involved two pickup trucks that reportedly hit head-on. While troopers could not release the names of the victims, they did report that one driver was taken from the scene by air ambulance to Toledo Hospital, while the other was taken by Defiance Fire Department to Defiance Regional Medical Center. Traffic, which was backed up in both directions, was detoured from Ohio 15 to U.S. 24 and Ohio 66. The road re-opened just after 9 a.m. Assisting at the scene were deputies from the Defiance County Sheriffs Office and Noble Township Fire Department. No further information was available at press time. Here, Defiance County Sheriff Dave Westrick and fire personnel look over the damage.
