Giving thanks: African farmer renews some old acquaintances
By JACK PALMER
Soumaila Ouattara is a farmer in the poor west African country of Mali who grows acres of rice, soybeans, corn and potatoes all by hand.
Yet, this man of humble means insists he is richly blessed by his many friendships in the United States.
Here everything is so developed, Ouattara said during a recent stop in Defiance as part of his first trip to America. Im very impressed by what you have here. Every place Ive been, people have been very nice to me.
