Defiance City Council held one of its shortest meetings this year Tuesday night when it approved two ordinances supporting enterprise zone agreements for two local businesses.
Council also briefly discussed the reopened compost site and received an update on a future railroad grade separation project during its 25-minute meeting.
The ordinances passed support separate enterprise zone agreements between county commissioners and the Hubbard Co. and Arps Dairy.
According to Defiance County economic development director Jerry Hayes, Hubbard is seeking a 100 percent, seven-year abatement on an investment of $770,000 over two years.
Hayes said the project includes a new press and related computer equipment.
