The 2003 Defiance Area CROP Walk, to be held in the city on Oct. 5, is sponsored by Defiance Clergy Fellowship and one of more than 2,000 walks held each year in the country to fight world hunger and poverty. This years goal is to raise more than $8,500, with proceeds going to Church World Services. Twenty-five percent will be returned to the local RAVENS Care program, providing for those in need in the area. Planning for the event are treasurer Carolyn Richard (left) and committee members Tim Stair and Betsy Hileman. Walkers are asked to solicit pledges and complete either a three- or six-mile walk. For more information, call chairman Henry Diehl at 419-784-0659.
