The 124-year-old church was destroyed after a lightning strike caught the bell tower on fire in the early morning hours on Monday. Firefighters from seven departments, including several parish members, battled the blaze for nearly eight hours. The state fire marshals office said the blaze would be ruled accidental from a probable lightning strike.
