Winners named in Sweet 16 portrait contest

Jessica Roberts, daughter of Cathy and John Roberts, has been declared the winner of the 50th Sweet 16 contest from a field of 48 contestants.

The competition is sponsored by Rod Brown photography and several area merchants.

Prizes for Roberts, an Otsego High School junior include the following:

Sarah Polter, daughter of Donna and Dennis Polter, was choosen as the second- place winner.

Sheri Sheffel, daughter of Gina and Rick Sheffel, was chosen as third-place winner. The seven other finalists are:

Hanna Brown, daughter of Christy and Bob Brown, a Defiance High School senior; Emily Cramer, daughter of Kim and Greg Cramer, an Ayersville junior; Christiane Kempe, daughter of Corina and Brian Kempe, a Defiance High School senior; Jessica Mendez, daughter of Christina and Christopher Mendez, a Tinora High School junior; Alyssa Scott, daughter of Leslie and Brian Scott, an Archbold High School junior, Tatum Smith, daughter of Amy and Max Smith, an Archbold High School junior, and Kalee Sweinhagen, daughter of Nicki Sweinhagen, a Tinora High School senior.

All 10 finalists received roses from Kircher's Flowers, sandwiches from McDonald's, gift bags from Mary Kay Cosmetics, Padrone's Pizza gift certificates, sundaes from Dairy Queen, movie passes from Northtowne 9, coupons from Family Video, and gift bags from Rod Brown Photography.

Hanna Brown was named Miss Congeniality by the other finalists and received a box of chocolates from Rod Brown Photography.
