NAPOLEON -- Wilfred C. "Will" Bostelman, 85, of Napoleon, Ohio, passed away on Monday, March 25, 2013, at St. Luke's Hospital, Maumee, Ohio.
He was born October 19, 1927, in Napoleon Township, Ohio, to the late Carl and Alma (Huener) Bostelman. On April 17, 1949, he married Velma (Schwiebert) Bostelman at Hope Lutheran Church, Hamler, Ohio.
Wilfred was a lifelong farmer and lifelong member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Okolona, where he served as deacon, trustee and elder. He was a faithful American Red Cross blood donor and volunteer for the Napoleon Lutheran Home. He served in the United States Army from 1945-47, was a member of Ridgeville American Legion Post 454 and honorably served on its military funeral detail for many years. He always enjoyed attending the sporting events and school activities of his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Velma; sons, Gary (Jamie) Bostelman, Rod (Jeri) Bostelman and Bob (Vicki) Bostelman, all of Napoleon; grandchildren, Christine (Greg) Kerr, Kim (Jon) Egan, Elizabeth (Dustin) Placke, Jana Bostelman, Greg (Lori) Bostelman, Scott Bostelman, Brett (Jaci) Bostelman and Brooke Bostelman; great-grandchildren, Max, Molly and Hannah Kerr, Matthew and Connor Egan, Brayden Hoffman and Zachary Bostelman; brother-in-law, Alvin Imbrock of Hamler; and sister-in-law, Helene Bostelman of Napoleon.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Nancy; grandson, Eric; brothers; Edmund and Eldor; and sisters, Irene Baden, Mildred Wachtman and Wilma Imbrock.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 29, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Okolona, Ohio. Interment will follow at the church cemetery, where military honors will be accorded by the Ridgeville American Legion. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Thursday at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Napoleon, and 10-11 a.m. Friday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Okolona.
