HICKSVILLE -- Marcella Rose Scott, 88, died at Hickory Creek at Hicksville, Saturday March 23, 2013.
Marcella was born to the late James and Elizabeth (Everett) Panico on September 18, 1924, at Hicksville, Ohio. She was a 1944 graduate of Hicksville High School. Marcella was united in marriage to Billy Scott on August 11, 1943. He preceded her in death on January 5, 2004.
Marcella held various jobs in Fort Wayne, Indiana, but was best known as the meter maid in Hicksville, as well as a homemaker. She was a long-time active member at the Grace United Methodist Church and a 50 plus year member of the Order of the Eastern Stars. In 1984, she was the Grand Electa of the Order.
Marcella is survived by her two daughters, Sally (Dallas) Dewey and Jill (Jim) Handy; five grandchildren, Alisa (Mike) Burlingame, Shad Dewey, Marci (Dennis) Michael, Amanda (Tim) Perroud and Jay (Stephanie) Handy; eight great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Andy (Barbara) Panico and Russell (Kay) Panico.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, James Jr. and Jack Panico.
The funeral service for Marcella is Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Smith & Brown Funeral Home in Hicksville. Visitation is the same day, two hours prior to the service. Burial will be at Forest Home Cemetery.
