Stella A. Herman, 90, of Defiance, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2013, at the Twin Rivers Care and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born on July 16, 1922, to John and Victoria (Waligula) Broda in Delray, Mich. On February 6, 1944, she married Walter Herman and he passed away October 30, 1981. Stella was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Wyandotte Hospital Auxiliary in Wyandotte, Mich.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandy Herman of Defiance, Ohio; son, John (Donnamarie) Herman of Norton, Mass.; and grandchildren, Bethany, Tyler and Jason Diedrich, Julia and Isabella Herman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Catherine Diedrich; two brothers and a sister.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, March 7, 2013, at Hanenkrath-Clevenger-Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, with a vigil service at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 8, 2013, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Defiance, with Father Randy Giesige officiating. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Hope Cemetery, Riverview, Mich.
