PAULDING -- William J. Slone, 74, of Paulding, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2013, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
Bill was born in Mousie, Kentucky, on April 22, 1938, a son of the late Margaret (Casebolt) and Roosevelt Slone. He was a tread booker at BF Goodrich for 29 years and had worked for Kentucky Gas & Oil. Bill had a wonderful sense of humor and loved hunting, fishing and woodworking. On May 16, 1958, he married Marcella Watkins.
Bill will be sadly missed by his wife, Marcella; children, Carla Blair of Vicksburg, Miss., Janie Flynn of Payne and Daniel of Paulding; sisters, Mary Kestel of Dema, Ky., and Clotine Hicks of Payne; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Also preceding him in death were his sisters, Sabrina Jones and Lois and Betty Powers.
Viewing is Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at Dooley Funeral Home, 05761 Ohio 500, Payne. His service is at Dooley Funeral Home of Payne at 2 p.m. Friday, March 8, with viewing one hour prior. He will be laid to rest at Wiltsie Cemetery.
