Margaret (Fricke) Rassman-Nixon-Murphy, 80, of Defiance, was peacefully called to be with her Heavenly Father on Monday, March 4, 2013, at Toledo Hospital, surrounded by her loving family singing her favorite hymns.

She was born in Archbold, Ohio, on March 20, 1932, the daughter of Reverend H.D. and Alice (Seiler) Fricke. Margaret was employed at Campbell Soup Co. for eight years and retired after 34 years of service at Zeller Corp., Defiance. After retirement, she worked part-time at Pocket Change Arcade and the Laurels of Defiance.

She had a passion for life, always sharing and caring for others. Her love and enormous heart touched many lives throughout her years. She enjoyed gardening, crafts, cooking and sharing her skills with others. Her greatest joy of all was spending time with her family and loved ones.

She is survived by her children, Mark (Donna) Rassman, Nancy (Lynn) Rassman-Elston, Connie Rassman-Burke, Patty (Dave) Nixon-Schafer and Scott (Angie) Nixon; stepchildren, Barb Seehase, Bud (Patti) Nixon, Jerry (Gloria) Nixon, Greg (Deb) Nixon, Greg (Linda) Murphy, PJ (Brenda) Murphy, Sherri (Todd) Glisan and Roger (Arlene) Murphy; 33 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and her special companion, Bingo.

Margaret was preceded in death by her two husbands, Robert Nixon Sr. and Francis Murphy; parents; three sisters, two brothers, two grandsons and a granddaughter.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 6, 2013, from 2-8 p.m. and Thursday from 10-11 a.m. at Hanenkrath-Clevenger-Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 7, 2013, at the funeral home, with Pastor Paul Myers officiating. Her final resting place will be in Riverside Cemetery, Defiance.
