Vern 'Barney' Vajen

NAPOLEON -- Vern "Barney" L. Vajen, 75, of Napoleon, passed away on February 22, 2013, at Henry County Hospital. He was the husband of the late Mary Ann (Mathers) Vajen.

Vern is survived by siblings, Gene Vajen, Sue (Gary) Nye, John (Sheila) Vajen; sister-in-law, Audrey Vajen; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Molly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John H. Vajen and Hulda (Riefers) Vajen; brother, Marvin Vajen; and sisters, Lou Ann Reese and Mary Lee Pfaff.

Vern worked for C.F. Gerken Construction Company and Wren Reese Construction Company as a masonry finisher. Vern was an OSU Buckeye fan, a Cleveland Browns fan, and he loved model trains and cars, playing cards and country western music.

Visitation for Vern will be on Monday, February 25, at 10 a.m. with an 11 a.m. funeral service to follow at Snyder-Wesche Funeral Home, Napoleon, with Pastor Charles Kramer officiating.
