OAKWOOD -- Beulah Winchester, 93, of Oakwood, died at 6:56 p.m. Monday, February 11, 2013, at Mercy Defiance Hospital, Defiance.
She was born December 31, 1919, in Oakwood, to the late Harry and Alma (Fitzwater) Grimes. On April 6, 1940, she married Leo E. Winchester, who died December 28, 2011.
She is survived by a daughter, Helen Winchester of Oakwood; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Winchester of Oakwood; two grandchildren, Marlin and Paul Winchester; eight great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles (Louise) Grimes; and a sister, Vernell Baker, both of Oakwood.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Donald Winchester; a great-grandchild, Amy Winchester; three brothers. Lester, Emery and Kenneth Grimes; and two sisters, Doris Adams and Lila Howell.
Beulah was a homemaker and a member of Grace Bible Church in Defiance.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 14, 2013, at Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Oakwood, with Dr. John McKay officiating. Burial will follow in Sherman Cemetery, Oakwood. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today and one hour prior to the service on Thursday, all at the funeral home.
