OAKWOOD -- Rodney Thomas, 56, of Oakwood died 2:31 a.m., Saturday, February 9, 2013, at Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center, Defiance.
He was born May 27, 1956, in Paulding to the late Clarence and Laura (Shafer) Thomas. He was an antique dealer and enjoyed garage sales, flea markets and dealing with people. He had an uncanny ability to make something out of nothing. He attended Dupont Church of the Brethren.
Surviving include his daughter, Shelby (Peter) Cully of Bowling Green; four grandchildren, Mikayla, Kaitlyn, Morgan and Kylie; two brothers, Henry (Kay) Thomas and Daniel (Brenda) Thomas, both of Oakwood; and a sister, Ellen Bird of Continental.
He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Carl Bird.
Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 12, 2013, at Dupont Church of the Brethren, Dupont, with Rev. Terry Porter officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Chapel Cemetery, Oakwood. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements by Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Oakwood.
