ANTWERP -- Ruby M. Nern, 84, of Antwerp, passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2013, at Hickory Creek Nursing Home, Hicksville.

Ruby was born in Oak Hill, Ohio, on August 21, 1928, a daughter of the late Dovie (Scarberry) and John Craft. She worked at Bryan Custom Plastics and was a member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church of Antwerp. She married Harold Nern on June 4, 1949. He passed away Feb. 23, 2001.

Ruby will be sadly missed by her children, Pamela (Terry) Zartman, Keith (Kathy) Nern and Kathleen (Ed) Jones, all of Antwerp, and Robin Cline of Hicksville; brothers, Tom Craft of Payne and Roger Craft of Hallsville, Texas; and 10 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her siblings Ray, Ben, Dewey and Lowell Craft, Mildred Fulk, Lessie McCain, Mabel Howard and Nancy Mosier.

Viewing is Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Dooley Funeral Home, Antwerp. Her funeral service is at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church of Antwerp at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 9, with viewing one hour prior to her service. Ruby will be laid to rest at Maumee Cemetery.

  • I am sorry to hear of your loss. Please accept our condolences. I am probably not very observant, but I can't believe how much Pam looks like her mother. We are in Florida and unable to attend the funeral. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you. Ed and Linda Foster
