TOLEDO -- Former Defiance resident Dennis Grover Clemens, 63, Toledo, died Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at home following a long battle with cancer.

He was born Nov. 29, 1949, in Defiance, the son of Ward Clemens and Bernice (Klinger) Link. He served with the U.S. Marine Corps for four years in the Vietnam War and was a self-employed carpenter. He was a member of Defiance AMVETS Post 1991 and liked motorcycles and traveling.

Surviving are a son, Jimmy Clemens; a daughter, Rachel Clemens; two brothers, three sisters, a half sister, a half brother and a companion, Tarisa.

Preceding him in death were his parents and a half sister.
