Raymond Hamman, age 88, of Edgerton, Ohio, died Jan. 18, 2013, in his home after an extended illness.
He was born May 6, 1924, to Lester and Linda (Royal) Hamman. In September 1948 he married Pauline Stark, who survives.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Edgerton. Ray was a full-time farmer. He enjoyed carpentry, gardening, planting trees, fabricating and repairing, and had his own sawmill and cut lumber. Working outside and in the woods were some of his favorite things.
Also surviving are four sons, Larry of Margate, Fla., Paul (Marie) of Bryan, Dale of Edon, and Dean, Edgerton; a daughter, Loraine (Daniel) Vetter, Hicksville; 17 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death was a daughter, Patrica Eitner, Wash.; and a grandchild, Brian Vetter.
Ray donated his body to science and research in Toledo. A mass will be held Monday, Jan. 21 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's in Edgerton.
