NEY -- Billy M. Lucas, 74, of Ney, passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2012, in his residence.

Billy was born January 21, 1938, in Gate City, Virginia, to Rebecca Fletcher. Billy was raised by his aunt and uncle, Edith and John Alvis. He was a 1956 graduate of Defiance High School. Billy was an Army veteran. He married Elaine A. Vosz on May 3, 1969, in St. Mark's Lutheran Church, rural Defiance. Billy was a mechanic, working for Bolley Motor Sales and Casebere Motors for 30 years, retiring in 2001. He had also worked at Dalton Industries. Billy was a regular at Shaffer's Restaurant in Bryan drinking coffee with his friends every day. He enjoyed caring for his home and cutting wood.

Surviving are his wife, Elaine A. of Ney; one son, James H. Lucas, also of Ney; one half sister, Beatrice of Gate City, Virginia; and one half brother, Gerald of Gate City, Virginia; a brother-in-law, Henry (Sue) Vosz of Defiance; two nieces, Amy (Dave) Leviton of South River, N.J., and Karen (Ryan) Short of Fort Wayne, Indiana; one nephew, Adam (Sarah) Vosz of Columbus, Ohio; and five great-nephews, Matthew and Joseph Leviton, Ethan, Noah and Gavin Short.

Memorial services for Billy M. Lucas will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, January 21, 2013, in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 206 North Lynn Street, Bryan, with Pastor Fred Brandon officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends beginning at 10 a.m. Monday and continue until the time of services at 2 p.m.
