Betty Amey


SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- Betty Lou (Davis) Amey passed away in San Antonio, Texas, on January 8, 2013.

Betty was born on September 27, 1932, in Clarksburg, W.Va., but resided in Celina and Defiance, Ohio, for the bulk of her life. She was a member of many local organizations as well as being a recognized local artist in Defiance. She resided in San Antonio from August 2011 to present.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Niles Brink Amey; son, Niles Travis Amey; and siblings, Marty Jo (Davis) Wise, Lawrence M. Davis Jr. and Jeanette (Davis) Myers.

She is survived by her San Antonio family, three grandchildren, Brink Davis Amey, Maxwell Travis Amey and Hannah Rae Amey, as well as a daughter-in-law, Michelle Amey. Other surviving family includes three nephews, Brad Myers (Steve Rowlands), Doug Myers (Deb) and Bill Davis (Sheryl); and three great-nieces and their families, Toby and Brad Carpenter (Tatem, Finley,) Lindsay and Kevin Hinshaw (Taylor, Max) and Ashley Myers and fiancé, Paul Kaczmarczyk; as well as a number of cousins, extended family and friends.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 19, 2013, at Zion's Lutheran Church, 1801 E. Second Street, Defiance, with Pastor Timothy G. Reynolds officiating.
