Marvin Z. Boyd, 88, of Defiance, passed away on Sunday, January 6, 2013, at the CHP Defiance Area In-Patient Hospice Center.

He was born on September 19, 1924, and was the son of John and Dora Belle (Karnes) Boyd in Defiance, Ohio. On April 13, 1946, he married Margaret Gebhart and she preceded him in death on May 17, 2010.

He is survived by his two daughters, Suzy (Paul) Wood of Maumee, Pamela (Thomas) Killion of Toledo; his two sons, Tod (Jeanne) Boyd and Robert (Amy) Boyd of Defiance; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Margaret; his son, Thomas Boyd; and three brothers, Glenn, Vic and Gerald Boyd.

Marvin was a tool and die maker for the Zeller Corporation, a member of the VFW Post 3360 and past president of the Defiance Camera/Photography Club. He also enjoyed country music and painting.

Funeral services for Marvin will be Saturday, January 12, 2013, at 2:30 p.m. at the Hanenkrath-Clevenger-Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, with Rev. Tim Yazel officiating. Family will receive friends on Saturday at the funeral home starting at 12:30 p.m. and continue until the time of service at 2:30 p.m. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Defiance.
