FOSTORIA -- Marilyn M. Saxton, 90, of Fostoria, Ohio, died Monday morning, Dec. 31, 2012, at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Fostoria.
She was born August 2, 1922, in Toledo, Ohio, the daughter of Harold and Jessie (Martin) Brombley. On March 29, 1941, she married James "Russ" Saxton in Fostoria. He died on Feb. 8, 2000.
Surviving are her sons, Larry R. (Saundra) and Michael (Barbara) Saxton, both of Defiance; daughter, Judy Lynn (Michael) Thomas of Fostoria; sisters, Helen Gierke of Findlay and Donna Fraley of Tiffin; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a sister, Laura Yoder.
She retired from Honeywell in Fostoria with over 30 years of service. She was a 1940 graduate of Fostoria High School and a member of Enon Valley Presbyterian Church. She was a member and past president of Fostoria Garden Club, was very active in the church, choir, and served as a former church board member. She also volunteered at the Fostoria Community Hospital.
Services will be held on Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, with Reverend Thomas Everett officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Knollcrest Cemetery, Arcadia, Ohio.
